Cheers! Crown Coast Shines on the Global Stage — Winner of Best Travel Film at the Cannes World Film Festival
The North Coast & Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration (hereafter referred to as the North Coast Administration) under the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, recently released a set of international promotional videos to showcase the Crown Coast Tourism Union. The campaign was honored with the Best Travel Film Award at the 2023 Cannes World Film Festival.
The videos spotlight iconic destinations along the Crown Coast, including Laomei Green Reef, Yehliu Geopark, Shallow Water Bay Seaside Park, Baishawan Recreation Area, and Heping Island Geopark.
Director Fang Cheng-Kuang of the North Coast Administration remarked that the region is rich in tourism resources, and through international marketing efforts, the Crown Coast is set to become a world-class travel destination that visitors will want to return to again and again.
The series, themed “The Crowns of the Crown Coast”, presents immersive travel experiences tailored to different audiences:
“The Crown of Adventure”
“The Crown of Romance”
“The Crown of Mountains & Sea”
Through vivid storytelling that captures the cultural charm and natural wonders of the Crown Coast, the videos invite viewers to discover unforgettable experiences—whether you're a solo backpacker, a couple on a romantic getaway, or a family on a seaside holiday.
Produced by Favula Inc., a frequent winner at international film festivals, the campaign has received widespread acclaim. In addition to the Best Travel Film at the 2023 Cannes World Film Festival, it also won the Gold Award in the Regional Tourism Category at The Golden City Gate – ITB Berlin, and a Gold Muse Creative Award in the Travel Video category in the United States—bringing global recognition to the breathtaking beauty of Taiwan’s Crown Coast.
